Your role as a family member, trusted friend, or advisor

  • Log on to SafetyDeed.com when we contact you and review the terms of a transaction involving your loved one's or client's home.
  • Discuss the transaction with them and ask yourself whether they are:
Aware of the Facts. Do they know they are signing over their house?
Exercising Judgment. Do they care that their children will no longer inherit their home?
Acting Independently. Do they appear to be acting of their own free will?
  • Log back on and tick a box to let us know you are comfortable with the transaction proceeding or tick a different box to let us know you have concerns.

That's it. If you raise a red flag, we will get their lawyer involved before the agreement becomes binding.

Typical Red Flags

Adding anyone to the deed

Loans from small private lenders

Reverse and wraparound mortgages

Prices or rates that are too high or too low
